Earlier this month, Victa Railfreight had the pleasure of attending the Rail Freight Group Awards, a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and excellence across the rail freight sector. Among the many highlights of the evening was a moment that truly captured the spirit of community and compassion within our industry.

During the evening, we were proud to present a cheque to Mark Bridel of Network Rail, a passionate advocate for using rail to make a difference. Mark alongside Kev Adlam of GB Railfreight and colleagues from UK Railtours and Network Rail, have been instrumental in organising passenger charter trains to unusual UK destinations, raising vital funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice in York through ticket sales and onboard raffles.

Victa Railfreight was honoured not only to contribute financially to this worthy cause, but also to support the special rail tour into the Port of Tilbury earlier this year, on the day of the tour. Our dedicated ground staff volunteered their time and generously donated their salaries to the hospice, which was topped up by Victa, demonstrating the heart and commitment that defines our team.

This initiative reflects the values we hold dear at Victa —supporting the wider rail industry while giving back to the communities we serve. We’re proud to stand alongside Mark and Network Rail in supporting Martin House and the incredible work they do for children and families.
