Last Thursday 20th March our Managing Director Neil Sime attended a Customer Workshop in Glasgow organised by the Scottish Joint Freight Board, the established forum for strategic overview of rail freight in Scotland. The session was led by Network Rail's Anne McKenzie (Senior Regional Freight Manager for Scotland) and Cal Logan (Route Freight Manager for Scotland).

Network Rail’s rail freight workshop in Glasgow was for rail freight operators, users, and officials from Network Rail and Transport Scotland. The first half featured a panel of businesses interested in using rail freight but hindered by a range of challenges.
The second half of the session focused on potential solutions, with delegates contributing to a Network Rail-led action plan.
The day was insightful, particularly hearing the honest views of potential rail freight users, which led to a collaborative discussion between the various rail freight partners in the room as to how we might address the issues raised.
