Celebrating 30 Years of Service: Thank You, Chris Barrow

Today, we are proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone as our esteemed colleague, Chris Barrow marks 30 years with Victa Railfreight.

Thirty years ago, Chris arrived at Hoo Junction to begin work as a Yard Assistant. His first role involved handling reinforcing steel transported by rail from Cardiff for storage and onward delivery to the construction site of what would become the now-famous Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe. This project was particularly significant, as it was Victa Railfreight's very first contract. What started as the beginning of a new business also marked the start of a career that would become inseparable from Victa's growth and success.

Over the last three decades, Chris has played a key role in countless projects and operations across the UK. From logistics management and supporting the construction of High Speed 1 between the Channel Tunnel and London, to main line freight operations and terminal management at locations stretching from Inverness to Dungeness, his contribution has been both extensive and invaluable.

Today, as National Operations Manager, Chris is recognised as one of the most experienced and respected rail freight professionals in the industry. His detailed operational knowledge, unwavering commitment and extensive network of contacts have made him a trusted source of advice and support for colleagues, customers and industry partners alike.

As Victa Railfreight celebrates its 30th anniversary year, it feels especially fitting to recognise someone who has been part of the journey from the very beginning. Chris's dedication, professionalism and loyalty have helped shape the company we are today.
